Re: To team or not to team
Teams is not a necessity. I mean, Arcade mode would consist of most likely people choosing pre-set teams and whatnot, but this is Mugen, everything is unlocked from the get-go. Mainly people want to see a vast amount of characters that become Infinite~ and will use their mains and whatever else they do. Teams is good to bring up some characters that might not have been brought in otherwise. It all goes down to what you are willing to do. Special intros and other things that makes it obvious they are teams, like SFxT. Or you can SF4 it and make it every man for them self but with a large amount of characters.

Re: To team or not to team
In my opinion teams is just something fancy but not needed....I think one on one is much better and bringing alot of fan favorites to the game is also a must especially characters people would never see in a real capcom and snk cross over like kaede and moriya and lee from last blade and rei from waku waku 7 or even jedah from darkstalkers and gato and freeman and the Kim brothers from mark of the wolves....it's crossover games like that that I cry for but will never see

Re: To team or not to team
Mano e Mano is starting to get boring and becoming yesterdays news to me. once you have seen all the Pros make their videos, everyone is doing nothing but that or being suckish noobs that you trample on.
Me, while playing SFxT to a vast amount of people i played each one kept saying they have never seen a defensive Ibuki. So far that is the only thing i see different.
The only hype is people catching the other person off guard or during a move. While more than 2 people on the screen will always mix it up no matter what. I'm usually always doing 2on2 matches b/c once i figure out the CPU i can't play them again b/c the CPU is repetitive and each character has their faults... well only b/c my playstyle is quite defensive ill eventually see the pattern.
I only make these points to just make it so something a bit more than just 1v1 stuff is going on so that something new other than pure gameplay style. infinite style is a mixture of different games. Then it becomes just that, a different style. Each new Sf game is the same with improved graphics, but for the most part each character plays pretty much the exact same way each game, Yet people hate Clones... i loved Dramatic battle because it was different. same with SFxT scramble battle.
1v1 is great but it can't be everything...
just personal opinions and observations.
