If you've played with Maki, and Mai, compared to the older characters, they're differences that will be added.

I do not play them so deeply, but they feel different. But I don't know the difference

The hyper backgrounds are tighter, and look a lot cleaner. Also, Maki, and Mai both have ending effects now among some other small changes. Each character will be updated to play just as they do...
